    Player Eligibility

    The minimum age required to participate in the tournament is 16 years of age.

    To compete in this tournament every player on the roster must have a valid LAN ticket for Insomnia 72 and be playing from within the Insomnia 72 LAN hall.

    Players may be required to submit ID in order to claim any prizes or if there is any doubt about their age. If evidence of being the appropriate age cannot be provided you may be disqualified from the tournament and prizes forfeit.

    The tournament works on a first-come-first-served basis, when the player limit is reached we will be unable to guarantee admission for any new Players. You may join the waiting list but there is the possibility that you will not be able to play in the tournament, in order to ensure you are able to take part please arrive early.

    Players that have been ejected from Insomnia Gaming Festival/iSeries previously are not eligible to play in Insomnia tournaments unless a ban has been specifically overturned by a member of the Player1 Events staff.

    Tournament Format

    Tournament Start: 10:00 am Sunday

    • Format – Commander (EDH)

    You will play 3 1 hour games. Players score 1 point for each player they eliminate from their game and 1 additional point for being the overall winner of their game. After all 3 games have concluded the 4 players with the highest points total will play a 4th game to determine placement with points ties being decided by the greatest number of player eliminations.

    The tournament format is subject to change depending on a number of factors. The format of the tournament will be decided at the event once it is known roughly how many Players are in attendance.

    Match Rules

    Match Setup:

    • Size: Groups of 4

    • Round time – 1 hour

    • Matches – 3

    Build a 100 card deck as per the deck construction rules as laid down by the Commander Rules Committee here: https://mtgcommander.net/index.php/rules/ additionally no cards that appear on the official Banned List here: https://mtgcommander.net/index.php/banned-list/ can appear in your deck.

    Decks will be checked before the tournament begins and games will be played under Casual level REL.s

    Proxies, and altered cards that obscure game text (Name, Casting Cost, Type Line, Rules Text, and Power/Toughness) are not legal for play.

    No player can request for more than 1 remake per series, outside of mutually agreed instances for issues affecting both Players.

    Players may request a late remake from the admin player if they believe there is a bug that is affecting the competitive integrity of the match. It is then for the tournament manager to decide if the match should be remade or not.

    Timekeeping

    Signup & Check In

    Players have from 6pm Thursday eve until 1 hour before the tournament start time to sign up at the social games area.

    Players must check in at the social games area desk 15 mins before the tournament starts.

    If a player does not check-in during this period you will not be granted admission to the tournament, as it is assumed that the player is not present and as such are unable to play.

    No Shows

    Players have 15 minutes from the scheduled start time of their match to be ready to play if not they will forfeit that match.

    Tournament admins reserve the right to change these timings if circumstances require it.

    Breaks

    Players are allowed a 10 minute break between matches.

    Prizing

    1st - Gets to choose two (2) of the fallout commander decks + Murders of Karlov booster Pack x 8

    2nd - Choose one (1) of the remaining fallout commander decks + Murders of Karlov booster Pack x6

    3rd - Gets the remaining fallout commander deck + Murders of Karlov booster Pack x3

    4th - Murders of Karlov booster Pack x3

    PENALTIES

    If any of these rules or the rules found in the T&Cs are broken one or more of the following penalties will take place:

    Verbal Warning

    In-game or pre-game penalties

    Match Forfeiture

    Disqualification from the tournament

    Removal from a live event & potential future event ban

    These penalties may not take place in the specific order above as different violations will invoke different punishments.

    Spirit of the Rules

    It is at the discretion of the Tournament Manager to modify any of the rules above for any reason. The rules are most likely to be amended in the following cases (without limitation):

    If a player is using banned cards, proxies or altered cards that obsure the game text.

    If players are suspected or proven to be engaging in unfair play or collusion to fix the results of a game.

    If there are substantial delays to a tournament that would prevent it from concluding in a timely fashion.

    In the event that a rule amendment is made, Players will be informed immediately of the changes made and the reasons why, via the tournaments main communication channels.

    All decisions regarding the interpretation of these rules lie solely with the Tournament Manager, the decisions of which are final.
